Grammar Grief: a Discussion of the Study of Language

چکیده
On our courses we need to establish what student teachers need to know about grammar, as well as what pupils need to know. Given the constraints of time, particularly on oneyear routes, our intention is to develop an understanding of the complexity of grammatical description, the interrelatedness of the terms included in glossaries that accompany curriculum requirements, and to challenge prejudiced notions about language variation and speakers of non-standard varieties.
